A reminder that there may be patrons coming in this last week of finals with a lot of book returns (in some cases, even multiple bags with books). To avoid creating long wait times for other patrons who have quick check-ins/check-outs, we’ve placed a poster sign in front of the hallway next to the Circ desk letting patrons know that they have the option of returning books (not Course Reserves) in the Book Return bin down the hall. Please let patrons know that they have this option if the lines get long.

Post-it notes
Just a reminder to place your name on the Post-it notes on the media equipment that is dropped off in my office. This is needed for when I need more details on what the issues are with the equipment.
Calculators Guide
A laminated visual guide for the calculators has been placed between the two workstations (inside the green Media Equipment Guide binder) on top of the book sensitizer. Please refer to it when patrons ask for calculators and it’s unclear which type they’re looking for. We have 2 different versions currently: a Graphing calculator (Ti-84) and a Scientific calculator (Ti-30XA).
Media equipment labels
Loan period and Late fee labels have been placed on most of our media equipment. They’re either yellow (for the larger items) or white (for the smaller items). Please remember to remind patrons of these policies (some items are 7 day loans/$15 per day late fee, others are 4 hour loans/$5 per hour late fee).
Mac Chargers Guide
A laminated visual guide for the Mac chargers has been placed between the two workstations (next to the book sensitizer.) Please refer to it when patrons ask for chargers and it’s unclear which version they’re looking for. We have 3 different versions currently (only 1 of the newest version). We should be getting a few more of the newest version in the summer for Summer/Fall semester onward.
Lost and Found Cabinet and Cart
The Lost and Found cabinet and the cart next to it have been cleaned up and organized. Since the chargers & headphones bin was getting full and knotted up, they’ve been separated now into separate bins. Also, all the electronics stuff is now next to each other on the middle shelf, to keep things separate from the non-electronics lost and found items on the top and bottom shelves. The cart next to the cabinet is labelled now too (top section for books and readers, and the bottom for notebooks, loose-leaf sheets and other books.)
I’ll go over with everyone this next week on how to properly tie up cables and headphones.
Mac laptops (update)
We’re still working on upgrading the current Macs. If any of you check-in Macs 2, 4, and 6 this coming week, please drop them off in my office so that the Tech support team can take a look at them.
Library computer software
When patrons ask what software is available on the library computers (24/7, Computing Hub, Research Services area across from Circulation) – please refer to this list found on the Library website:

Loan Periods and Late Fees labels
We’re in the process of adding yellow Loan Periods and Late Fees labels on all our major equipment kits. If you check-in any kits that don’t have yellow labels on them, please let me know so that I can add these on them.
