The main campus lost and found has moved to a temporary location to the left of the Cal Coast credit union office in the Student Union. It’s located on the left side of the Student Union, up the ramp, in an office called “Park Blvd.” Not sure how long it will be there, though. -Claire

DON’T send non-students to Cashiers to pay for fines
ONLY students can pay at the Cashiers Office – everybody else has to pay HERE.
Before sending anyone to Cashiers, ASK if they are a student –
If a non-student wants to pay, get a staff person.
Earbuds for Community Users
Robert the guard shared with me that a few Cluster Niners have multiple pairs of give-away earbuds.
If you get requests for the freebies, would you ask if they have gotten them before? You can still give them a pair, but tell them that they’re only supposed to get one pair per person. Might help….
ValueLine for Fiscal Literacy class
We put all the most recent ValueLine pamphlets in on-campus envelopes for this class, one ‘volume’ per envelope, and a separate envelope for the Index. Let the students use the Index to decide which volume they want. This is the simplest way to deal with the influx of students all wanting to use this material
No Mac renewals
The Mac computers cannot be renewed, even if there is another Mac in the equipment cabinet (that’s usually the 4-hour one anyway). Users must wait 24 hours before checking out another Mac – we have too few to be able to facilitate immediate turn-around, and it would be unfair to other users to do so anyway. If they want to check out a different computer like an HP or a Chromebook, that’s acceptable, for the time being.
CHROMEBOOKS CAN ACCESS MICROSOFT WORD
FYI- some patrons have wanted to return Chromebooks because they don’t have Microsoft Word installed. If a patron says this, please inform them they can log into their Microsoft Office 360 account with their SDSU ID and access Microsoft Word that way.
Meningitis on campus – be aware!
Everyone, it’s more important than ever to sanitize your work area before starting work and wash your hands several time a day.
Please DO NOT handle people’s phones.
If possible, have users swipe their own ID cards to check out – but look at the pictures, please.
Disinfect the other computers at the desk on a regular basis.
Make sure you sanitize the headphones.
Use the hand sanitizer if you handle items from the public and cannot wash your hands.
Please take this situation seriously and stay healthy!
Stuff being checked out to wrong patrons
We’ve had a rash of incidents where items are getting checked out to the wrong people.
It could be that SAs are looking up users by last name and choosing the wrong person from the list.
ONLY use Red ID numbers.
Or, SAs are not closing patron records and then mistakenly checking out stuff to the last user.
PLEASE. BE. CAREFUL.
Lost and Found key
Lost & Found key is snapped in half and currently broken. Hopefully there will be a solution soon but for now just place a cart in front of the cabinet when closing.
Thursday lecture move – John Jennings
The John Jennings talk on Thursday at 1pm is being relocated to LL430/431 – originally it was supposed to be in LL108.
There will be signs up in the hallway re-directing attendees.
If you see lost people or if you get asked where the lecture is being held, please direct them to 430/431. Thanks!
