The computers that patrons use to look up the call number have a lot of dust build up in the hard drives. I noticed that the storage closet doesn’t have any dust spray. It would be nice to clean the keyboards.

When you check in a book with orange tape over the call number and a message comes up that says In Transit from circdesk to csb, those are compact shelf books. You can open another Sierra and log in with the username “compact” and password “mcirc” and check the book in there to clear the In Transit status.

A patron came to the desk and informed us that the ceiling of elevator 4 had fallen onto the ground. We discovered that the middle tile of the roof fell down.

PERSONALITY BURGER, J. Circulation/Reserves — BF698.B84 RBR 2008 — NOT CHECKD OUT 2-hour book
The book for Psychology 351, under professor Saponjic titled Personality (BF 698 B84 RBR 2008) is still missing, but says it is not checked out.
One of the custodians informed us that people were going into the media center around 11AM and he wanted to know if it was supposed to be open, which it isn’t supposed to be until 12PM, so Troy checked and the door was unlocked but no one was inside. So he locked the door upon exiting.

Unlike last year, we are better prepared for all of the kids running around the library. Once we realized what was going on, I had Beau go to the top of the dome and enforce our accompanied by a guardian policy. So far only a few kids slipped by hiding in a crowd, but we caught them down stairs and asked them to leave and come back with a guardian. We have had one complaint so far about noise in the donor hallway in front of the quiet study. I tried to let the student know that the 5th floor would probably be the best place for quiet study today, but she did not want to move because she “paid a ton in tuition.” We posted “quiet” signs in the doorways of the quiet study and there haven’t been any more noise complaints.
